Untitled [three sprayed forms] (c.1974-76) [W/P]

Synthetic polymer paint, ink and pencil on paper, 56 x 38 (sheet), 36 x 25.5 (image)
Collection of Robyn McKenzie, Canberra

This drawing and Untitled [two sprayed verticals] (c.1974-76) [W/P] were both previously owned by Arkley’s colleague Tony Clark.

Both are variants of the composition used for Arkley’s early canvas Actuality (Is the Void Between Events) 1976, and various related ‘white’ works on paper from 1974 onwards: see now the entry for Study for Actuality [A93] (1974) [W/P], and the other examples and comments on source material noted there.

The components in this example closely resemble those in Untitled [A145] (c.1974-76) [W/P].

= ‘White’ W/P cat.no.180A (new entry March 2026, following advice from the present owner)
