This canvas was one of the three produced by Arkley for the Ericcson mobile phone project (see general remarks for 1996): see also Explosion 1996 and Stilllife “Tulips” 1996. All three were exhibited by Tolarno at Art Cologne, Nov.1996.

Arkley’s archive included a slide of the present work. The imagery is based on that first used for Zappo Head 1987 [Bendigo] and Zappo Head 1987 [Oxley].
